You can find the IMEI or SN code on the SIM tray or on the box (if you have it). The easiest way to find IMEI is on SIM tray. To pop open the SIM tray, insert a paper clip or a SIM-eject tool into the hole beside the tray.
You need the code to check if your iCloud can be unlocked or not? Codes starting with OS7.. can be unlocked and codes starting with OS8… can’t be unlocked and for these devices, you need to replace the locked logic board with new one so then you can start using your iPhone or iPad without iCloud.
With this code you will see if your iCloud can be unlocked or not. If not then you need to swap your device motherboard so that you will get new IMEI code.

SIM tray or iPhone/iPad rear case
How long will it take to receive the code?
It takes 15 minutes to 1 hours (max 6 hours) to receive the code to your email.
Why do I need that code? Does it unlock the iCloud directly?
